Carlos Teixeira was born in Porto, Portugal. He began his musical journey at the age of 9, studying the recorder and later the guitar. It wasn’t until his teenage years that he discovered his passion for the flute. As a young musician, he performed with various ensembles across Spain, Italy, France, Austria, Belgium, Germany, Hungary, England, and Brazil.
At 22, under the guidance of Professor Marco Pereira, Carlos won his first professional audition for the flute position in the Portuguese Army Concert Band. He served in the band for five years, during which he received a Commendation for his outstanding technical skill, professionalism, and human relations.
While working, he completed a Bachelor’s degree in Music Performance at the Universidade de Évora in Portugal, studying under Professor Anabela Malarranha. He also participated in the Erasmus Program at the Lemmensinstituut in Belgium.
Carlos continued his studies in the Netherlands, earning a Master’s degree from the Maastricht Academy of Music under the guidance of Philippe Benoit. He has also participated in numerous masterclasses and workshops with renowned flautists including James Galway, Peter-Lukas Graf, Wissam Boustany, Robert Winn, Michael Cox, Rien Reede, Thies Roorda, and others.
Throughout his career, Carlos has performed and taught internationally, collaborating with various ensembles and orchestras. His repertoire spans from Baroque to Latin Jazz, and he has performed extensively across Europe, the Middle East, and South America.
